Description
The Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College (CCS Bard) invites applications for a Librarian to join our small, collaborative team in the CCS Bard Library & Archives. This is a full-time (35 hours/week) on-site position at our campus
in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, 90 miles north of New York City.
Reporting to the Director of Library & Archives, the Librarian is responsible for all technical services providing original and copy cataloging for general and special collections materials in multiple formats—including exhibition catalogs, monographs, artists’
publications such as books and periodicals, and audio-visual works—according to current standards, including LCSH, LC classifications, and local practices. This position also works closely with our contract developer to manage CCS Bard’s Blacklight discovery
layer. The Librarian also contributes to reference and research support and participation in library instruction activities, and the day-to-day management of the CCS Bard Library.
Established in 1994, the Library & Archives at CCS Bard is the only academic research center designed specifically to support a graduate program in curatorial studies as a scholarly field and practice-based endeavor encompassing a range of activities associated
with forms of cultural and artistic production. Today, CCS Bard is one of the foremost research centers for scholarly work in contemporary art and culture. It fully supports a range of research-based practices within the liberal arts, and engages with the
fields of art history, anthropology, film and electronic media, performing arts, dance, human rights, and architecture.
