Dear Colleagues, The Midstates Chapter of ARLIS/NA will hold its Fall Business Meeting and Mini-Conference on Friday, November 11, 2022. This will be a virtual event. Presentations will take place first, followed by a short break and then the chapter business meeting. 9am CST / 10am EST - Keynote presentation: Emilee Mathews, Head of Ricker Art & Architecture Library at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Chair of the ARLIS/NA Documentation Committee Jessie Knoles, assistant archivist for the ARLIS/NA archives. "Emilee Mathews, Head of Ricker Art & Architecture Library at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Chair of the ARLIS/NA Documentation Committee, and Jessie Knoles, assistant archivist for the ARLIS/NA archives held at the University of Illinois Archives, will discuss their approaches to curating exhibits using material found in the ARLIS/NA Archives. They will also showcase additional material held in the ARLIS/NA archives and consider the value of preserving organizational history and culture. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation." Lightening round presentation: Kalita López, Processing Archivist, The Indianapolis Museum of Art Archives at Newfields. Kalita's talk is titled, "Interdisciplinary Processing," and covers "The importance of interdisciplinary processing, approaches I have used, and how interdisciplinary approaches can be applied to library spaces that do not have an archivist."
