Hello all. We came across an interesting find in a book the other day and are wondering if anyone else has found the same in their library.

It is a printed facsimile of a letter from Duchamp to his sister, one which casts doubt on the authorship of the Fountain, placed into a book on Dada next to an image of the Fountain. The letter has a small card attached to it directing the reader to www.whoisrmutt.com. The website is no longer up but can be seen on the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20150404233703/http://whoisrmutt.com/

The associated tumblr page is still up and shows that there was a coordinated action in 2015 to place copies of these letters in books in various libraries and bookstores: https://whoisrmutt.tumblr.com/

The locations listed are in Boston and NYC but there may have been more (we are not listed so I suspect it was never updated). Have any of you found this letter in your own stacks? And if you have, what did you decide to do with it?

Best wishes,
Jessica
