Hello, I am helping a grad student track down the first use of a term "angel roof." I've found a 19th century century example on Google Books. I tried OED but it's not included there. The student found a Merriam-Webster entry that said the earliest use was from 1867 but they didn't give the source!

Does anyone know if there is an OED type resource for architectural terms, where we might be able to trace its origins?

thanks,
