This survey was designed to help the task force collect, disaggregate, and report relevant data to get a clearer picture of inequities that we see in the visual arts information profession
and the organization, as compared with the broader field of librarianship and its affiliated professions. Understanding past experiences with systemic racism at ARLIS/NA is a necessary part of making ARLIS/NA a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable organization
now and in the future.
You’ll find the Anti-Racism Task Force’s report on the survey on the ARLIS/NA website here:
https://www.arlisna.org/news/anti-racism-task-force-reports.
All the survey questions are included, along with disaggregated and anonymized results. Recommendations related to the survey are included in the Task Force’s final report, which is also available on the ARLIS/NA website.
Thank you to task force members Kiana Webster, Natisha Harper, and Heather Slania for their work crafting and analyzing the survey. Thank you to all the survey respondents for taking
the time to complete the survey and contribute to the efforts to improve ARLIS/NA.
On behalf of the task force,
