(Hi Folks, apologies for cross-posting!) Creative Inquiries Presents Mimi Onuoha Virginia Commonwealth University Libraries will host a presentation by Mimi Ọnụọha <https://mimionuoha.com/>, a Nigerian-American artist and researcher whose work highlights the social relationships and power dynamics behind data collection. Her multimedia practice uses print, code, installation, and video to call attention to the ways in which those in the margins are differently abstracted, represented, and missed by sociotechnical systems. This is the inaugural program in a series that will feature experts whose work intersects research methodologies, the creative process, and technology. - When: March 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM - Where: Online - Learn more about the session and register to attend: https://www.library.vcu.edu/about/events/2021-2022/creative-inquiries.html -- *Carla-Mae Crookendale, **she/her* <https://www.mypronouns.org/what-and-why/> Arts Research Librarian Assistant Professor VCU Libraries Virginia Commonwealth University James Branch Cabell Library 901 Park Avenue Richmond, Virginia 23284-2033 804 827-0367 [log in to unmask] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org/membership/join-arlisna Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.arlisna.org Questions may be addressed to list owner (Judy Dyki) at: [log in to unmask] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
