Error during command authentication.

Error - unable to initiate communication with LISTSERV (errno=10061, phase=CONNECT, target=127.0.0.1:2306). The server is probably not started. The Malebolge, as many ARLISians will know, is the eighth circle of Dante’s Hell. It also is the title of this painting of the Schöllenen gorge at St. Gotthard in Switzerland, a site beloved by Turner and many other 19th-century painters. The painting is on paper about 21-3/4 x 27-1/4 inches and is highly detailed with intricate brushwork. There appears to be a lot of silver or gold dust mixed into the pigment. This small scan probably is not large enough to see all of this. The heavily color-corrected lower right corner with the title and monogram or initials is the puzzle. First, St. Gotthard is misspelled, perhaps indicating a visitor from elsewhere. Second, the righthand side of the monogram/initials looks to me like a Cyrillic L, but maybe not.

All suggestions welcome, and many thanks,

Larry
