We are pleased to announce that as of March 1, 2022, The Museum of Modern Art Archives, Library, and Research Collections (ALRC) will be reopened to researchers wishing to schedule onsite visits. The Archives reading room will be open on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, from 1:00-5:00 p.m., by appointment. The Library reading room will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., also by appointment. We ask that you request appointments via the appropriate online form (Archives or Library).
Please note that Library materials must be requested through library.moma.org seven days in advance of your confirmed appointment in order to be available for consultation.
All visitors must adhere to the Museum’s entry policies, which includes showing proof of COVID-19 vaccination authorized by the U.S. FDA or WHO. Masks are required in all indoor areas of the Museum.
When possible, we will address inquiries that can be answered remotely. You may submit queries via our online forms; allow up to 10 business days for a response. The Archives also now offers a scan-on-demand service. You may find this compilation of online resources useful for your research.
