Has your own institution or organization worked with indigenous communities directly to create acknowledgements or agreements? We still have space for 1-2 more speakers! These presentations should be short and informal (5-10 minutes each), and are intended to share ideas and perspectives. If you’re interested, please let me know directly.

What comes after this step, and how can we work together to ensure that the preparation and performance of land acknowledgements remains an active practice that goes beyond perfunctory readings?
To open this session, we will hear from volunteers from various ARLIS/NA constituent groups, including the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and the Canada Chapter, about their practices and activities. We invite members, particularly those who self-identify as Indigenous, to contribute their perspectives. This session provides space for chapter leaders and other members to ask questions, share resources, and discuss their experiences. By offering this town hall in advance of the annual conference, we hope that attendees will leave with ideas or actions for their chapters and groups.
While only the formal presentations may be recorded, we will share collected resources and notes following the discussion.
