Dear ARLIS/NA Community
The ARLIS/NA Strategic Planning committee has convened and begun
designing the next phases of the ARLIS/NA strategic planning
process. The goal of this process is to craft new mission and
vision statements, revise the core values statements, and
prepare a strategic plan with implementation tools to guide
ARLIS/NA into the future.
Composed of representatives from across the Society, the
committee has drafted a survey to elicit feedback from the
ARLIS/NA community, begun an environmental scan, and is planning
visioning sessions to take place at the annual conference this
April. Other opportunities for engagement post-conference are
also in development, including online focus groups.
Survey
Look for a message about the strategic planning survey soon. It
should take about 30 minutes to complete and we hope to hear
from members and non-members alike. The survey will provide
critical information that will help shape the mission, vision,
values and goals for the Society over the next 5 years and
beyond.
Opportunities for feedback at the 50th anniversary conference
in Chicago
On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the Strategic Planning Committee will
be hosting two sessions at the annual conference: one for
volunteer leaders and one for all interested conference
attendees. Join us to preview results from the survey,
participate in visioning exercises, and help generate ideas for
ARLIS/NA’s future and how the organization may best serve the
art information profession.
Ongoing Process
More information to come as the next phases continue to come
together. There will be opportunities to share feedback with the
committee during all phases. We encourage you to actively
participate in the strategic planning process to ensure that the
mission, vision, values and goals reflect the aspirations of the
ARLIS/NA community.
If you have questions at any point in the process, don’t
hesitate to contact us.
Best,
