Hi ARLIS/NA Colleagues,
In September of 2021, I sent out an initial call for volunteers to help edit captions associated with legacy content on the
Society’s Kaltura Channel. Thanks to the following individuals for responding to that call and using their time to improve the accessibility of ARLIS/NA’s content:
There are still a large number of recordings that need edited captions to meet basic accessibility standards. I wanted to send out a second call for volunteers while also making
an announcement. On Tuesday, May 10th from 4-8pm EST I’ll be hosting a virtual edit-a-thon focused on improving captions for the Society’s Kaltura content. If you want to help with editing captions but need some guidance or accountability,
save the date! You can register via Google Form
here and read more about the event on this
web page.
For those who can’t attend the edit-a-thon or simply want to work on their own, feel free to sign up for a particular recording on
this Google sheet and edit away. Here are the steps you should follow:
Thanks so much for reading and I hope to see some of you virtually for the edit-a-thon in May! I’ll also be in touch with all volunteers via email.
Sincerely,
Meredith
