Hello colleagues!
The
SCIP SIG is delighted to be sponsoring a panel at the upcoming Chicago conference which will focus on the topic of creative practice and creative research as scholarly communication. The session will provide an opportunity for panelists to present their creative work and participate in a lively panel discussion about how creative practice can (or should!) be accepted and integrated as a form of scholarly communication.
We are seeking brief proposals from individuals who have succeeded at inclusion of their creative work in their research portfolio, those who are trying to do so, and/or whose attempts have been stymied. You need not be employed by an academic institution with a research mandate, but it will be one area of focus. We hope to present a range of perspectives and practices in order to inspire attendees to consider ways that creative work might expand our thinking within the LIS field and build on traditional forms of scholarly output.
