I almost missed this very important announcement: Eileen Markson is finally really retiring from the job as Art Doc copy editor she has done so well for so many years-how many years? I don't know, but I know that before moving to a wonderful apartment in Portland, Oregon, she was the Art Librarian at Bryn Mawr College. In addition to acting as copy-editor for Art Doc for such a long time, she also worked with Tom Jacoby on interviews of long-time members that were published in Art Doc. And she was the 1983 ARLIS conference chair for the Philadelphia conference! I'm sure there is more I don't know. Congratulations, Eileen. Now you get to read for pleasure-what a concept! She helped countless authors bring clarity and poetry to their words. Eileen has been a guiding force, and I will miss her wisdom, hard questions, eagle eye-and most of all her friendship.
