Consumption and Production: Themes of Sustainability in Artists Books

Thursday, October 21st Noon-1 pm EST (virtual)


This virtual presentation will focus on a few of the special artists’ books from Wells Library at Indiana University, with an emphasis on the artist’s response to issues of sustainability. Sarah Carter and Yara Cluver will use a high-resolution camera to showcase books which engage topics of destructive fracking practices, water conservation, and threats to our biosphere. This virtual presentation will be followed by a drop-in open house the following day. All attendees will be eligible to win a door prize drawing to win a handmade notebook created by staff at IU Libraries' E. Lingle Craig Preservation Lab.
