One of our curators is trying to access some entries from Mapplethorpe’s catalogue raisonné, which bizarrely exists only on a 1996 CDrom (!!???). It's a FoxPro database, which is an old Microsoft DOS product that hasn't been supported since 2007. There’s also a Mac version, which I’m assuming is also not supported (our Macs don’t even have drives). Our tech people may be able to migrate the info to an Access database, but I’m dubious.

Does anyone know if content from the CR exists elsewhere? We’re going to check with the Getty, who has Mapplethorpe’s archive. This seems too bizarre to be true.

The curator is interested not so much in the images themselves but in what the CR says about them. They date to 1988. I think the reference numbers are from the catalog:

1900

Self-Portrait

L.2011

Paul Wadina, from the suite America

L.2012

Sonia Resika, from the suite America

L.2013

Calla Lily, from the suite America

L.2017 & L.2018 (two-panel work)

Calla Lily

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
