Dear Colleagues,

A gentle reminder that oWednesday, Oct. 27th from 5-6 pm online, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT SUNY) Professor Kyunghee Pyun will give a FIT Library author talk about her book, Fashion, Identity, and Power in Modern Asia. Discussion and Q&A to follow.

This talk will focus on the process of introducing and developing modernity in a particular sector of society—how to dress—in East Asia during a tumultuous period of great change in the early twentieth century. Based on her book, Dr. Pyun explains the process of modernization in East Asian clothing during that juncture in history.

The author will also discuss how to maintain a good relationship with the editorial team of an academic publisher and how to identify potential publishers. Finding a good match can also apply to artists looking for a gallery or musicians looking for a label. Small talks and networking opportunities can lead to a successful contract. The ups and downs of searching for images to be included in publications will also be addressed.

There's still time!  Click to RSVP

Kindest Regards,

Jennifer
