Error during command authentication.

Hi ARLISians,

 

I am writing to ask for your help making the Society’s video content accessible to a broader audience. Presently a very small percentage of videos on ARLIS/NA’s Kaltura Channel have edited captions. I have submitted a project and service charter to address this issue that has been approved by the Executive Board. To begin this work, I am asking for volunteers to sign up to edit existing automatically generated transcripts. These transcripts are typically about 80% accurate and will typically take 2 hours to edit. You can find the sign up spreadsheet here. If interested in participating, please follow these steps:

 

1. Enter your name and email in column A next to the transcript you would like to edit
2. Download the .srt file in column D (“rawTranscriptLink”)
3. Open the .srt in a text editor like TextEdit or Notepad
4. Play the media in Kaltura (link in column C) and edit any mistakes in the automatically generated transcript file. Do not change any timestamps in the transcript.
5. Save file and upload to your Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box (etc.) account. Add a link to the edited transcript in column E of the spreadsheet.

 

If you’ve wanted to watch content from a past ARLIS/NA conference or event that you missed, now is a great time to view those videos while helping out the Society. Kaltura also includes a search feature for you to identify videos that would match your interests.

 

Note that we do have videos that are not in English. If you have foreign language skills (particularly Spanish or French), please help us with the foreign language recordings identified in the spreadsheet.
