To the ARLIS/NA community:

In August 2020 the ARLIS/NA Exhibitions SIG formed the Exhibitions Standards Taskforce (ESTF). This group, made up of eight Exhibitions SIG members who represent a variety of institutions and professional backgrounds, have been working together on a document that provides a framework for exhibition practices in libraries and special collections centers. This document will serve as a working tool for library and information professionals who seek general guidance in staging, developing, managing, and evaluating exhibitions.

We are now pleased to invite the ARLIS/NA community to review this document and share your feedback with us.  The community review is a critical step for us to ensure inclusiveness in our process and content development. We have presented a portion of the document at the ARLIS/NA virtual conference and the Society for American Archivists’ annual conference earlier this year. The document has also been reviewed by the ARLIS/NA Board, we are at the final stage of the completion of the document before it will be published on the ARLIS/NA website by the end of 2021.

Please see our read-only ARLIS/NA Exhibitions Best Practices draft. We appreciate your feedback by Sunday, October 24, 2021. You may add your comment directly on the document. If you have any questions, please direct them to the Exhibitions SIG Co-coordinators, Elizabeth Meinke ([log in to unmask]) and/or Carol Ng-He ([log in to unmask]).

We look forward to your feedback.

Regards,
