Call for panelists: WNYLRC’s Intersect Unconference 2021: Resilience, Renewal, and Beyond! Conference to be held virtually on October 1, 2021.

Seeking 2-3 panelists to join me for the plenary session (interactive roundtable). Interested parties: please email [log in to unmask] by Tuesday, September 14th. Those accepted with be informed via email on Thursday, September 16th.

Session title: Glass half full: Success stories in the time of COVID19.

Session catch phrase: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Not everything that happened in the last year and a half was bad – let’s celebrate and share our successes!

Session description: Libraries faced unprecedented challenges the past 15 months, from extended physical closures, budget cuts, and staff reductions. We all quickly adapted, pivoted our services and learned new skills so our patrons would not feel the effects the pandemic was having on libraries, even though news from the outside world was grim. This roundtable discussion will focus on libraries’ success stories from the past year: what went well? What new or re-tooled services or programs will be retained? What was eliminated this past year that won’t be missed?

We want to learn what you, your team, and your community did well when forced to think outside of the box and do more with less (or sometimes less with less).
