TITLE: Assistant Librarian - Architecture Public Services Librarian


POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Architecture Public Services Librarian provides oversight and direction for the circulation, reference, and reserve areas at the Architecture Library branch. This position serves as a collaborative member of the Architecture Library Team and the User Centered Services Unit (USCU) in the shared mission to support and enhance students’ use, access, and engagement with the Libraries resources, services, and spaces.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Architecture Public Services Librarian is a member of the Texas Tech University Libraries faculty whose responsibilities include actively pursuing academic publishing, professional development, instruction, and service to the Libraries, University, and community.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library program.

Preferred: Subject expertise and/or degree in architecture, art, or a related field; Knowledge and understanding of public services functions, best practices and current trends in an academic library setting; 1 to 3 years of successful supervisory experience; Information literacy teaching and instruction assessment experience; Competencies using integrated library systems (Alma); Excellent oral and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, student and community members; Strong service orientation; Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.


SALARY AND BENEFITS: The position is a 12-month appointment with a nationally competitive salary. Librarians and archivists have academic status and are an integral part of the academic teaching and research mission of the University.
