AfroCROWD, NYU Libraries, and the NYU Institute of African American Affairs & Center for Black Visual Culture are coming together to bring attention to Black culture and the African diaspora on Wikimedia platforms. Inspired by the 1970s radio show Soul of Reason, this event will train you to contribute to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons.

1:00 - 1:30 pm EST: Opening remarks and speakers

1:30 - 1:45 pm EST: Brief training/orientation

1:45 - 3:30 pm EST: Open editing in breakout rooms with Wiki coaches: beginner room, collaboratively write Soul of Reason Wikipedia article, Wikipedia editing, Wikidata editing, Wikimedia Commons

3:00 - 3:30 pm EST: wrap up
