2021 Lois Swan Jones Professional Development Award Announcement



The ARLIS/NA Texas-Mexico Chapter is pleased to announce the 2021 Lois Swan Jones Professional Development Awards, which support the participation of ARLIS/NA Texas-Mexico chapter members at the ARLIS/NA 49th annual conference to be held virtually from May 11th-13th, 2021.



This year, we have six awards to cover the costs of attending the conference:
*  Two $150 awards, covering conference registration at the individual member rate.
*  Four $50 awards, with priority given to student, bridge/unemployed, or retiree members.

The deadline for applications is Friday, April 2, 2021.



Eligibility:

  *   Applicants must be members in good standing of the ARLIS Texas-Mexico Chapter and ARLIS/NA (requirement waived for current students and unemployed/furloughed members).
  *   Applicants who are fully funded to attend the conference through their institution of employment or education are not eligible.
  *   Applicant is eligible even if the member has previously received the award. The committee shall consider the merits of the individual application independent of past decisions.



Application Procedure:

  *   Applicant should submit a letter of application and curriculum vitae to the award committee chair via email (Lauren Gottlieb-Miller at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>). The letter should include a statement explaining eligibility and interest, and any proposed conference program involvement. We welcome and encourage applications from members at all levels of service, scholarship, and participation.
  *   Deadline for 2021 Awards is Friday, April 2, 2021.
