In preparation for the 2/16 Auction Catalogs SIG meeting, I thought it would be useful to share some information I recently gathered regarding Phillips sales:

  * The April New York 2020 photos sale was delayed until July 2020, when the catalog was printed. The printed catalog date still says April. Very limited copies were printed, and those of us on the comp list did not get one mailed. They are sending us one though.
  * The Oct. 2020 photos sale catalog was also printed in very limited quantities, and they have no extra copies. Jeffrey Eger<https://www.jegercatalogues.com/> reports no copies in his collection.
  * The September 25, London photo sale catalog was similarly printed in limited quantities, and no extra copies are available. Jeffrey Eger<https://www.jegercatalogues.com/> reports no copies in his collection.
  * There was not a spring 2020 London photos sale.
  * I’m understanding that very few museum were sent print copies from any of the photo sales in 2020.

About the ARLIS/NA Auction Catalogs SIG
The Auction Catalogs SIG serves as a forum for discussion on all things auction catalog-related – acquiring, cataloging, archiving and providing access to print, digitized, and born digital auction catalogs and the related materials that document auction sales. Current topics of interest to the group include: using emerging technology for capturing and archiving online catalogs, cooperative projects (such as the shared price list project for archiving online price lists), and best practices for using the SCIPIO database and for applying RDA to cataloging auction catalogs and related materials.
