Dear Colleagues,
The ARLIS/NA Mid-Atlantic Chapter is accepting proposals for diversity, inclusion, and equity lightning talks to be presented during our virtual spring programming in late April or early May. The lightning talks will follow the usual spring business meeting, and be followed by an informal virtual Q&A session and happy hour.
Lighting talks should be 5-6 minutes and related to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in your library or in art librarianship. Topics can include, but are not limited to, the suggestions listed below:
Exhibitions and/or virtual tours
Collection highlights
Collection development
Projects
Instruction
Programming
Mentorship/outreach efforts to underrepresented groups
We would like to emphasize that you do not have to be a member of ARLIS/NA or the Mid-Atlantic Chapter to submit a proposal. Please submit proposals of no more than 250 words via this Google Form by Friday, March 19, 2021. Presenters will be notified by March 31st of their acceptance.
We look forward to reading your proposals, and to “seeing” you at the spring program!
