Is it possible that the magazine is Ebony or Jet? Or even Negro Digest/Black World?
All were published in the early 50s (although I think Negro Digest suspended publication at some point in the 50s)

Good luck!

Greetings, all -

This is a long shot but I'd love to see if any of you have suggestions. I am trying to identify the magazine seen in this John Robinson painting from 1952. I have scoured the Better Homes & Gardens digital archive but have been unsuccessful. Other potential publications are Ladies' Home Journal, American Home Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day, and Look but the digital archives are lacking. I've tried reverse image searches using the whole painting and also cropped images of just the magazine with no luck.

I'm open to any and all suggestions you may have! It's entirely possible it's not a faithful representation of an actual magazine spread but I'd love to make sure I've followed up on all possible publications just in case.

Many thanks to all,
Laura
