The Museum Library Division is holding a topic chat re: working on-site and reopening considerations this Friday, November 6 at 3pm EST/noon PST over Zoom. If you would like to be added to our list-serv, follow the instructions on our Division website<https://www.arlisna.org/organization/divisions/93-museum-division>. The link to the meeting is at the end of this email. Topics will include:
-A time for those who have reopened to Museum staff or the public to share their experiences/lessons learned
-Safety precautions: How are various safety procedures being established? To what level are you adapting the REALM data to your planning? What does materials handling and shared equipment/spaces look like at your library? How are various staff comfort levels being addressed?
-Staffing: How are staff coping with layoffs/working with less resources? How have you kept staff engaged while working from home? If staff has been able to come on-site to work, how are you managing new scheduling procedures? How is the reference desks being or planned on being staffed?
-Public interaction with the space (if time allows): Are you planning to limit public access to equipment, specific spaces in the library, etc.? How do you foresee managing public appointments with museum staff coming in? How will reference desk interactions be handled? Share any other updated visitor guidelines and planning policies/procedures.
