Dear ARLIS/NA Members,

As National Native American Heritage Month (U.S.A.) draws to a close, I am happy to share the news that among the newest additions to the ARLIS/NA Policy Manual<https://arlisna.org/images/admindocs/gov/policymanual/ARLISNA_PolicyManual_rev20201105.pdf> (section N-9) is a section on land acknowledgements. Members are encouraged to prepare and perform land acknowledgements at virtual and in-person society gatherings, as an opportunity to foster knowledge about Indigenous stewardship of the land and to voice their respect and care for the land on which we live and work. The policy contains additional background and guidance.

All best wishes,

Amy Marshall Furness
