Updates on projects:
Craft History curriculum in higher education: Joan Benedetti is compiling a list of programs in which a discreet curriculum of the history of craft is taught.
Directory of decorative arts library collections: libraries with dedicated or substantial collections of resources pertaining to the decorative arts.
Status of “Now Screening: How Films and Video Enhance Documentation of the Decorative Arts,” our SIG conference session. We have been invited to take this presentation to the 2021 conference.

Decolonizing collections – discuss
DEI efforts the SIG can be involved in
Recruit a volunteer to manage the Dec Arts blog. This person would solicit ideas and content and post the blog.
- Blog ideas include:
o reposting interesting content relating to decorative arts
o alerting members to online events
What would Dec Arts members like to see?
- Virtual meetings 2-4 times a year – your thoughts?
- Topics for the group to explore
- More programming (presentations, virtual tours of your library/exhibitions
- Support for professional development
- Promote awareness of dec arts resources
- Get to know each other
** “Now Screening…” panelists – Our session proposal was accepted for the Montreal 2021 conference. Let’s discuss how we wish to proceed if we must pivot to a virtual presentation.
