Dear colleagues,

The next Academic Division open forum is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20 from 3 pm to 4 pm EST. The hour-long open forum will center around campus and library operations; virtual instruction, outreach, and research assistance; and collections. Use the following Zoom link to join the meeting:

Topic: Academic Division Open Forum

Time: Tuesday, October 20, 2020, 03:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Link: https://yalelibrary.zoom.us/j/97621679650?pwd=RWU0NUdQZFYxYm5IdXc3MFc3U3Nxdz09

The breakout topics include:

  1. Campus and library operations: How is your campus operating this fall? Is your library open and, if so, who can use it? How are you dealing with the following: sanitizing and cleaning; health & safety precautions (masks, temperatures, etc.); social distancing; hours; staffing (childcare, sick leave, student employees).
  2. Virtual instruction, outreach, and research assistance: How is instruction happening at your institution this fall: in-person, virtual, or hybrid? How is your library supporting online courses? What type of virtual library instruction are you doing? How are you connecting with faculty and students?
  3. Collections: How is your library handling the following: course reserves; curbside pick-up; circulation; quarantining materials; etc. Have you made any new purchases (streaming video, e-books, etc.) to respond to the needs of your users? Have you made any cuts due to budget constraints?

The open forum will not be recorded, to allow participants to speak freely. Summary notes including links to resources will be shared to the Academic Library Division listserv.
