Update: The student posted this question on Reddit and found an answer! It seems the jacket design was inspired by a sketchbook of Kawanabe Kyosai (held by the Kawanabe Kyosai Memorial Museum) rather than a direct copy of his work. Although I found many similar images, I didn't have any luck finding the original. I am hoping someone on the list might recognize the woman reading and help identify the original.
