Dear ARLIS/NA colleagues,

Maya Gervits, Lucy Campbell, Kathy Edwards, Barbara Opar and Rose Orcutt are writing an article on the work life changes and challenges architecture librarians and architecture teaching faculty faced in the first half of 2020 in response to the COVID19 global health emergency. Our aim is to ‘capture’ our collective coping strategies during that pivotal time when higher ed institutions had to adjust quickly to the pandemic. We invite architecture librarians to participate in the survey portion of this effort, which is being hosted by the University of Buffalo. (This invitation has already been sent to the AASL listserv; the faculty survey is being distributed separately.)

We are very appreciative of your time and attention, especially at this time of year; your help will greatly assist us. You will find the Librarians survey link at the bottom of this email. The survey will close at the end of Friday, August 21st.

And now, the boilerplate:

This Survey is intended to capture the work life changes and challenges architecture librarians faced in the first half of 2020 in response to the COVID19 global health emergency.

This survey is entirely voluntary and will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Your refusal to participate will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to you. You may refuse to answer any questions that you do not want to answer. Please note that your responses are anonymous and no individual identifying information is being collected.

There are no known risks to participating in this survey and there is no cost to you for participating in this survey. There are no direct benefits to you for participating in this survey but your feedback may help architecture librarians better understand what challenges you encountered during the spring semester of 2020.
