Seems like a form versus function and function versus form kind of topic. In the Drawings + Documents Archive at Ball State, we had one architect in particular who would perform surveys on people’s behavior and then design a building afterwards based on those needs. We are physically closed, but there is an online lecture on the topic in our collections https://dmr.bsu.edu/digital/collection/CAPLectures/id/14/rec/2.
