Project for the Study of Collecting and Provenance

Getty Research Institute

Announcement

A new interface for the Getty Provenance Index® was released on February 27, 2020. This new interface presents a unified database of more than 2.2 million records from archival inventories, sales catalogs, and dealer stock books. Researchers can search across the whole database at once or choose to search any combination of source materials.

Another new interface provides separate search access to additional provenance-related databases: the Collectors Files, Payments to Artists, and Public Collections.

To search the Getty Provenance Index®, please visit: https://piprod.getty.edu/starweb/pi/servlet.starweb?path=pi/pi.web

To search the Getty Provenance Index: Additional Databases, please visit: https://piprod.getty.edu/starweb/piadd/servlet.starweb?path=piadd/piadd.web
