Recently added! Louise Neaderland Collection of Copy Art

The Special Collections Center is pleased to announce that the Louise Neaderland Collection of copy art is now open for research. This unique, hybrid teaching collection of books and archival materials was donated by Louise Odes Neaderland, director of the International Society of Copier Artists (I.S.C.A.) and publisher of the I.S.C.A. Quarterly.

As a politically-engaged artist, bookmaker, and raconteur for over four decades, Neaderland has been influential to generations of artists, making significant contributions to the development of mail art, copy art, and the democratic multiple. This collection focuses on her personal creative output and includes xerographic prints, artists’ books, paste-ups, newspaper sources, early experiments, and unrealized projects, as well as trade books from her working library. Researchers will have the ability to view her source materials and process work alongside finished projects for the first time.

The collection was processed and made accessible in the Louise Neaderland Collection of copy art finding aid by Alexandra Vargas-Fournier, Archivist.

Forthcoming in 2020: The Center plans to launch a retrospective exhibition of Louise Neaderland’s artworks and archival materials. Please stay tuned!
