I want to join in congratulating Mark Bresnan on his retirement.
Over the 19 years I have spent at the Met, I often depended on the sage advice of my colleague, Mark, at the Frick. There are people you know you can shoot an email
to and be assured that you will get a quick and to-the-point response – Mark is one of those kind of people. He was ever gracious and never judgmental and often humorous. Over the years he has been supportive of not just me, but of our work at the Watson Library
in general. His participation as part of the New York City cataloging community will be sorely missed!
Best wishes for your future plans, Mark!
Tamara

Subject: [External] - [ARLIS-L] retirement
Hello ARLISians:
I am retiring this month from the Frick Art Reference Library, where I have been Head of Bibliographic Records since 1997, and where I have worked full-time since 1984. While not all that active in ARLIS/NA
I have presented once and moderated a couple of times at our annual conferences, and contributed a Cataloging Section column to the long-defunct print publication ARLIS/NA Update for a few years. I have always appreciated the acumen, collegiality and professionalism
of the Society. At the Frick I have been fortunate to work under 3 Mellon Librarians: Helen Sanger, Patricia Barnett and Stephen Bury. I am greatly appreciative of the guidance and support of Deborah Kempe, Chief, Collections Management and Access, at the
Frick. Debbie has pushed us to participate in BIBCO, ECIP, and LD4P (Linked Data for Production) as well as other national and international endeavors. I will miss my colleagues at the Frick, in NYARC and in the Art Libraries Society of North America. Best
wishes for the holidays and in the New Year.
Sincerely,
Mark
