Cataloging is a cooperative endeavor and I am glad that we art catalogers had Mark in our society and Society. He and those he led and inspired at the Frick Art Reference Library were strong contributors to the NACO (name authority) program of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging. And then he took the Frick to independence as a full member of PCC (NACO, BIBCO, and SACO). He frequently hosted the New York City [Art] Catalogers Discussion Group when it was active in the '90s and aughts. He did this all with the humor that we expect from catalogers. I wish Mark a wonderful retirement.
