Dear Colleagues

The Development Committee has two unexpected vacancies and is looking for members of the Society who would like to assist with this crucial endeavor. My apologies for the lateness of this message. The Development Committee is not only responsible for ARLIS/NA fundraising through grant writing, the Society Circle, and other instruments. DevCom also oversees fundraising for the annual conference.

This volunteer assignment has a moderate workload that intensifies in advance of the annual conference but in general remains constant. Members of the committee must attend monthly conference calls, and can take on committee work assignments that involve research, letter writing, and donor development. It would be beneficial (but not required) for applicants to have some background in fundraising at their home institutions or in their personal life. To apply, see the message below from Vice-President Trendler.

Many thanks

Gregg Most

Subject: Volunteer to be an ARLIS/NA committee member, chair, or affiliate liaison, 2020-2021

Greetings ARLIS/NA members!

This year we are again using the recruitment process the ARLIS/NA Board created last year in an effort to be more equitable and transparent in filling vacant roles on committees and among our affiliate liaisons. If you are interested in serving as a committee member, a committee chair, or an affiliate liaison please complete the volunteer form between now and October 31, 2019. All interested ARLIS/NA members are encouraged to apply. When completing the form, be prepared to briefly describe your interest and qualifications for the role in order to assist with the appointments.

2020-2021 Volunteer Form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020-2021volunteers

Appointments will be made during the month of November and notifications will go out in December. 2020-2021 terms for committee chairs, committee members, and affiliate liaisons begin after the membership meeting at the annual conference in St. Louis, April 20-24, 2020.

If you have questions about committees, affiliated organizations, or the recruitment process, don't hesitate to contact me.

Best,
Amy
