Dear collective wisdom,

The studio manager of a very established artist (has shown in the Whitney Biennial, is in the MoMA collection, etc.), was interested in creating a database of the artist’s work, ephemera relating to exhibition history, reviews, publications, etc. and asked me for recommendations for available databases or templates for database software that might be available to facilitate this easily.  I have been out of that loop for quite a long time, so was wondering what people were using today—when I did some of this type of work 15 years ago, we just built custom databases in MS Access or FileMakerPro; is there anything better/easier around now?

Thanks for any thoughts or advice.

Best,

Eric
