Hi Kathy,
Our library has art on the walls throughout the building and a small art gallery space in the basement floor, but all the exhibitions (in the gallery) and art works on the wall are professionally organized and
administered by the University’s Legacy Art Galleries & University Art Collections, which is a separate museum organization on campus.

Some exhibitions in the Library’s gallery space are jointly curated by our Special Collections & Archives, but generally speaking, the Library is simply providing the space for Legacy.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Does your university library have an art display program or policy?
[EXTERNAL EMAIL - USE CAUTION]
Dear colleagues,
Suddenly I am the Art Coordinator for the main library here at Clemson.
As I begin to pull that program and a team together, I would very much appreciate hearing from those of you who have art displayed in your main libraries: policy or procedure documents, most especially.
What are the art sources you tap? Who vets artworks? What security/insurance provisions did your organization think through (and reject
J).
Many thanks,
Kathy
