The Midstates Chapter Fall 2019 meeting will be held at the historic Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan on Friday, October 4. We have an exciting schedule of presentations and tours planned!

The schedule is as follows:

 

Friday, October 4

Friday morning

8:30 to 9:00 am, Breakfast, Welcome, and Introductions

deSalle Auditorium, Cranbrook Art Museum

 

9:00 to 10:15 am

Business Meeting (Agenda to follow)

 

10:15 to 10:30 am

Break

 

10:30 am to 11:30 am

Presentations

 

11:30-1:00 Lunch at Reflections Cafe, Cranbrook Institute of Science

 

1:00-2:00

Professional topic discussion (stay tuned for an opportunity to select the topic)

 

2:30 - 4:30 pm

Guided Cranbrook Walking Tour: (extra cost of $30)

 

 

 

Friday evening we suggest that people coordinate dinner and drinks amongst themselves. We will send out suggestions in advance.

 

Optional Evening Activities:

 

6:00-7:30 pm Claire Bishop lecture, deSalle Auditorium in the Cranbrook Art Museum.

 

The Cranbrook Institute of Science is open until 10:00 pm on Friday nights.  Admission after 5:00 pm is free on the first Friday of each month (underwritten by MASCO Corporation Foundation). All of the galleries will be open, plus there is a small but state-of-the-art planetarium. Shows are $5.00 each and last about 45 minutes. Normally there are 4 different shows on Friday evenings:  6:00 pm, 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm. and 9:00 pm. Observatory is open 8:30-10:00 pm on Friday evenings, weather permitting.

9 am Meet for breakfast/coffee followed by DIY tours (Location TBD)
