I attended the meeting at Columbia. I’m pretty sure that Eleanor Hartman was there, too, although she is no longer alive to verify it.

Joan, the only notice I have seen re Chicago and pins is in the Minutes I posted of our Retirement SIG meeting in Salt  Lake City a   few weeks ago. Of course, if there was another, I could have missed it as I am always behind on reading my emails.

I don’t think I’m dreaming, but I can’t locate an announcement that was posted on ARLIS-L recently concerning photos of commemorative pins that ARLIS has produced over the years.  I have a few of the pins, though not, I think, all.  Who is the person who is coordinating the 50th anniversary celebration, which will be in Chicago?

I’m attaching a photo I took of all that I have.  (I also took photos of the individual pins.)  Starting with the blue “ARLIS+” at the top, going clockwise, I have identified them as:

1982—Boston (10th)

1987---Wash., D.C. (15th)

2014—Wash., D.C. (42nd) –Hirschhorn

2014—Wash., D.C. (42nd)—Smithsonian

2014—Wash., D.C. (42nd)—National Gallery of Art

2017—New Orleans (45th)

2018—New York City (46th)

Unidentified small bronze-colored pin—was this one produced in connection with a conference or simply as a membership pin?  Anybody know the date?

The gold-colored pin In the middle is for Society Circle members; I think Gregg Most had something to do with it?  In the middle of the pin is the date the Society was established (2003), but I think the pin was produced several years later than that—anyone have this information?  Seems to me there must have been other pins produced?

My first ARLIS/NA conference was 1977 (the 5th) in Los Angeles.  I guess Janis Ekdahl went to the first conference at Columbia in NYC—though she looks younger than all of us!  Anyone else still around that attended the first?

Sentimentally,

Joan
