Dear ARLIS/NA members,

On behalf of the ARLIS/NA editorial board, I am delighted to welcome the coordinators of the Graphic Novels SIG who will serve as editors of the new online publication Notable Graphic Novels Review<https://www.arlisna.org/publications/notable-graphic-novels>.

The ARLIS/NA Executive Board approved the initiative to establish the review as an official society publication at the midyear meeting in Atlanta last August. The review began in 2017 as an annual feature of the SIG’s blog<http://arlisgnsig.blogspot.com/>.  The publication’s page<https://www.arlisna.org/publications/notable-graphic-novels> on the society’s website is now live and includes links to the earlier blog posts as well as a description of the review process and the editors’ contact information.

Our new editorial colleagues are:


  *   Olivia Miller Piepmeier, Arts and Humanities Librarian, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth



  *   Tara Spies Smith, Research, Instruction & Outreach Librarian, Texas State University-San Marcos



  *   Andrew Wang, Instructional Design Librarian, Ringling College of Art + Design


As expressed in the recent ARLIS-L call for nominations, “[t]he primary objective of this list is to acknowledge and celebrate the craft of sequential art from the last year by tapping into the experience and love of this medium from ARLIS/NA members. As a result, this annual publication can assist (art) library workers in improving their own institutional collections of graphic novels by providing summaries, critical evaluations, and informed recommendations.”

The editors invite ARLIS/NA members to submit anonymous nominations for the 2018 Notable Graphic Novels Review appearing in summer 2019.
