Hello all!

The Teaching SIG is currently collecting and sharing member lesson plans and activities on our newly created blog: http://teaching.arlisna.org/
We're starting things off with an assortment of lesson plans and interviews by the Teaching SIG blog team, starting with Carol Ng-He's lesson plan for an archaeology class: http://teaching.arlisna.org/2019/01/23/lesson-plan-series-1-the-archaeology-of-food/

We're seeking submissions to expand this series from other ARLIS members, and would love to share your work on the blog. We have a brief series of questions for you to answer. There is no particular length requirement or minimum for answers, but please keep in mind that we usually try to limit blog posts to about 500 words or so in a Word document. Up to two images in JPEG format are welcome.

Please send your submission to the SIG coordinator at [log in to unmask]

Guiding questions:
  • What is your name? Where are you in the field currently? What has been your teaching experience thus far (doesn’t necessarily have to be strictly in librarianship)?
  • What is/was the name of the institution and the position that you were in when you wrote and gave this lesson plan?
  • What is the context of the lesson plan you wrote--who was the audience, were there specific learning objectives that you had to work with, or were you able to write your own, etc?
  • Were there any resources you used in the creation of the lesson plan? What were they?
  • How was the plan received? Would you make any changes if you had to repeat it in the future?
If you are open to readers reaching out to you about your lesson plan, please include your email address or contact info at the end of your post. Please don’t hesitate to be in touch with us directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,
The Teaching SIG Blog Team
