Good afternoon (and forgive any cross-posting), I'm the Digital Services Librarian at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and I'm just about to embark on a project with our Fashion Resource Center to create a Digital Collection/Catalog of their Garment collection. I wanted to reach out to the community, informally, to see what sort of metadata standards or vocabularies other institutions are using. From my research so far I have seen a lot of references to standard cultural object standards (using VRA Core or Cataloging Cultural Objects) or vocabularies (such as Getty AAT), and these are powerful tools to use. I was just curious if there were any fashion specialized tools or resources that are in use. More granular vocabularies or metadata fields. I appreciate any feedback that anyone can provide, and I look forward to getting my collection up and running so it is a resource for everyone.
