If a student came to me with this request, I would definitely tell her that this falls under fair use, for all the reasons you cited, and she should feel confident about using any images that she wants (with credits).

I’m working with non-art student and art lover who wants to hone her skills in image curation. Has a similar copyright question come up with your students? Or does anyone have  some general thoughts on this scenario?  If so, I would appreciate  hearing your comments!
