New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC), in partnership with The Internet Archive, recently received an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Leadership Grant in Curating Collections. The grant, entitled Advancing Art Libraries and Curated Web Archives: A National Forum, will facilitate collaboration among art libraries and museums for the creation of collections of web-based art resources for scholarly use.

 

Participation in this effort is not dependent on current web archiving experience or programs. In fact, those not currently engaged in such efforts are particularly encouraged to get involved.

 

Join staff of the grant project at a webinar to learn more about how to participate in the effort to gather information on the key challenges and opportunities that art libraries face in archiving born-digital resources. Initial research will lead to reports, a national forum and workshops that build on other emergent efforts to form alliances and catalyze a community of practice focused on collaborative models that support the mission of art libraries.
