Library Assistant (P/T)—Libraries and Archives

Requirements:

· Experience working in a museum or research library setting

· Excellent and precise communication and computer skills

· Ability to perform detailed work such as creating, entering, and searching bibliographic data

· Knowledge of library automated systems and databases, including OCLC Connexion and Millennium

· Knowledge of the MARC format strongly preferred

· MLS student preferred

Responsibilities:

· Order acquisitions and record them into a shared Library Online catalogue

· Maintain financial records and process invoices

· Coordinate donations and exchanges

· Maintain the stacks, including labeling, shelving, and shifting the collections

· Package and mail interlibrary loans

· Supervise researchers in the reading room

· Circulate materials to Museum staff, assist both staff and the public onsite via phone, letter, and email

· Photocopying, scanning, and other general office work

· Starting date: Immediately
