Dear colleagues,

IFLA has been undertaking a huge global consultation aimed at producing an Action Plan. Earlier this year it published a summary report of findings so far, called Global Vision, outlining 10 Highlights (the perceived positive values of libraries) and 10 Opportunities (areas where work is needed for change). The report (an easy read, 4 pages, large print) is linked from here: https://www.ifla.org/node/11905

The Vision, though global, acknowledges regional and sectoral individuality. The Art Libraries Section (in common with all the other IFLA committees) is now required to contribute ideas for more detailed actions, after first choosing the 3 Opportunities that seem most relevant to the particular interests it represents.
