Hello Colleagues,

I am interested in creating an online repository for images taken of MFA exhibitions. We want to create an archive that includes images taken of the art as it appeared in the MFA installation, an abstract of the exhibition, and files of any marketing materials.
Have any of you attempted something similar? Did you have the artists choose a Creative Commons license or simply include a rights statement like "these copyrighted images are not available for re-use?" Did you provide one metadata record for the entire exhibition or create individual records for unique items?

There are opposing opinions at my institution....

Thank you in advance for your help.
