Artists Talk on Art records, circa 1974-2018

Artists Talk on Art (1974- ) is the art world's longest-running and most prolific, ongoing aesthetic panel discussion series. ATOA has presented more than 1,400 panels, open screenings, and dialogs featuring nearly 6,000 artists, critics, historians, dealers, and others since January 1975.

 

Max Beckmann papers, 1917-1954

Max Beckmann (1884-1950) was a painter and educator who was born and educated in Germany and based in New York after World War II.

 

Ilse Getz papers, 1928-1999

Ilse Getz (1917-1992) was a painter and collagist in New York, New York and Newtown, Connecticut active from the 1950s through the 1980s. Getz studied at the Art Students League with George Grosz and Morris Kantor and at the Ozenfant School.

 

Edmund W. Greacen papers, 1976-2016

Edmund Greacen (1876-1949) was an American Impressionist painter in New York, N.Y. Greacen was a member of the National Arts Club and founded the Grand Central School of Art in 1923.

 

James W. Washington, Jr. papers, 1938-1989

James W. Washington, Jr. (1909-2000) was an African American painter and sculptor prominent in the Seattle, Washington art community.

 

Ray Yoshida papers, 1950-2005

Ray Yoshida (1930-2009) was a painter, collagist, and educator in Chicago, Illinois.
